Through ongoing sports training and competitions, Special Olympics Hawaii can realize the goal of bringing all persons with intellectual disabilities into a larger society under conditions whereby they are accepted, respected, and given a chance to become productive citizens.

Special Olympics Hawaii is a non-profit 501 (C) (3) organization that relies on donations from individuals, businesses, foundations and community events.

Special Olympics Hawaii does not receive funding from the federal government, the Kennedy Foundation, nor the Aloha United Way agency. All the money raised in Hawaii, stays in Hawaii to support our program in the areas of competition, sports and training, development, outreach, and family and public education. Special Olympics Hawaii strives to meet its goal to ensure more than 85% of funds are used for program delivery for the athletes. All contributions to Special Olympics Hawaii are tax deductible.

As Special Olympics does not charge its athletes to train and compete in its activities, it becomes a challenge to provide everyone with a chance to benefit from Special Olympics. There are a number of ways you can help make this happen.

There are many ways to help Special Olympics Hawaii as an individual, a group or corporation. They include making a direct tax-deductible contribution, creating or supporting special promotions, special fund-raising events, or through planned giving initiatives. Donations can be made through gifts cash, stock, memorial donations, matching gifts and planned estate giving.

Special Olympics Hawaii offers many opportunities for companies and organizations to receive benefits through sponsor packages tailored to your organization's needs.

SOHI currently serves only 11% of the eligible athletes in Hawaii. We depend on your support to provide individuals the opportunity to get out on the playing field and experience the joys that participation in sports can provide.
