Are you a fan of adventure? Do you live for the next adrenaline rush? Then this is the event for you! 

We invite you to enjoy the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to rappel thirty-one stories from the roof of the newly renovated Sheraton Waikiki. 

Best of all, you'll earn the satisfaction of knowing that you've helped provide opportunities for our local Special Olympics athletes to train and compete in sports.

Its as easy as ...

1) Register
Register Online and set up your Firstgiving fundraising page. Or  download a registration form.

2) Raise Funds
Use your online fundraising page or collect cash and checks from your network of friends, family and co-workers.

3) Secure Your Rappel Spot

Once you reach the $1,000 minimum fundraising goal, you will be guaranteed a rappel spot and we will contact you to secure a rappel time.

Or you can secure your rappel spot and get a 2-week extension on fundraising by filling out the Extension Form. This is strictly optional, but will automatically secure your rappel spot by allowing Special Olympics Hawai'i to charge your credit card for the difference that you are unable to raise up to the $1,000 minimum on November 21, 2011.  

4) Earn Incentives!
Rappellers who raise above and beyond the $1,000 minimum are eligible for some great incentive prizes.

$1,500 raised – $50 gift certificate to the Edge of Waikiki Bar, RumFire, Twist at the Hanohano room, or any Sheraton Waikiki restaurant

$2,000 raised – Complimentary one-night stay at the Sheraton Waikiki for November 5th only (subject to room availability at the Sheraton)

5) Go Over the Edge!
This is a big building . . . the largest structure in Waikiki, that is. A rappel of 315 feet is huge by anyone’s standards. This rappel is something rock climbers, mountaineers, and fire fighters salivate over. It is definitely an extreme event and probably a once in a lifetime experience.

Why raise $1,000?

Special Olympics Hawai‘i’s programming costs approximately $1,000 per athlete annually. 

All of it is provided at no cost to our athletes and their families

Your participation in Over the Edge of Waikiki will one more intellectually disabled athlete in Hawai‘i to experience the joy of sports.

Minimum Requirements
Raise at least $1,000 by November 5*
$100 deposit at sign-up
Be at least 18 years of age on event day
Weigh less than 300 lbs.

October 5, 2011

*Funds raised by an individual short of the minimum goal will not be refunded unless requested by the individual donor

**Your deposit may be counted towards your $1,000 minimum goal or may be refundable at your request if you raise $1,100
